Who's the good player (or other major asset) you're giving Vancouver for Brock Boeser, a RW who's coveted by every other team in the league?

Jamie Benn. The captain of this team and the Art Ross winner from 2015.

Sure due to his contract he's not as valuable as Boeser, but with DAL taking Eriksson and adding some good pieces I think it's fair.

Benn's still a great LW that can score 50-60 point a season in a full-defense team. He could easily be a 70-80 point player in an offensive team such as VAN.

Both teams reject. Benn is not even close to Boeser value. He is an important piece to that organization
Florida needs defense, not offense

FLA needs both if Dadonov and Hoffman walk. They're pretty covered in RHDs with Ekblad, Weegar and Brown. Strålman becomes expendable.

As for VAN, I think taking Eriksson's contract while adding some good assets evens out the value.

I apologize. The involvement of Vancouver led me astray. I was actually, believe it or not, visualizing Jordie Benn. This makes the trade a lot more understandable, but since I missed the boat the first time, I think I should recuse myself from commenting on it a second time.

I know the rumor is Benn would only waive for Van but, I dont think Van would be willing to give up what the Stars would potentially want in a trade that didnt heavily swing Van's way but, more so because Benn isnt a need at all with what all they got. Their top 6 looks good if you place them by TOI and they're projected to have 20 mil with Virtanen,Gaudette,Motte, Tanev, Stetcher and Markstrom to resign; they could potentially want to keep Toffoli too and Pettersson is a due a contract after next season. Dallas would probably have to give up a better package that included retaining salary and that's if Van wanted Benn, I mean, Brock turned 22 in Feb and Benn will be 31 this July, I just can't see Van wanting to move a kid that is apart of their future for some one who could realistically retire after his contract expires in 5 seasons.
