Why not, it's a pretty good trade for Edmonton.

Larsson is a bottom pairing man along with JJ. Kerfoot is much better and more viable

I think your opinion is off a bit. The biggest knock against Adam Larsson is that Chiarelli traded Taylor Hall in order to get him. Larsson is a shut-down defender who has played top-4 minutes along side more offensive puck-movers during his entire NHL career. He is 27 years old, physical, and pretty good at shutting down the cycle. The Leafs could do a lot worse, as evidenced by some of the defenders they have on their current roster.

Kaihra is probably going to be a 4th-line guy for the rest of his NHL career, but he is a good penalty killer and can bring some physicality and toughness that the Leafs desperately need.

I think Dubas is interested in players like Larsson and Khaira. His team needs them if they are ever going to become legit contenders in the Eastern Conference.

That being stated, I agree with CD282, I doubt Holland would give up both players for Kerfoot.

When did the leafs need grit after the Clifford trade. We have no need for a JJ. Leafs could use physical but not JJ. His contract is above 1mil
Just because you gave up an elite player for a bottom pairing defender doesn't mean he is good. He is not a top 4 defenseman and doesn't even have much to show on defense. He is ok at defense but now gonna make an impact. A player like Justin Holl is better at defense that Larsson

Dubas might think about Larsson but only if it's a discount. Otherwise he is gonna ignore.
Leafs don't want 2 bottom pairing guys who suck

You are entitled to have your opinion, even if it is misinformed and without factual basis.

Khaira had, IIRC, the second best GA/60 at 4v5 of all the forwards in the league. He played well as 4C. As such he's got some value - enough that Sweeney offered Heinen for him at the deadline.

I know some Leafs fans keep on about Larsson being a bottom pairing guy, but he's played top-4 his entire career, often against the opposition's best. He's never going to score a lot, but he's solid in his role and the Oilers don't really have anyone to replace him, as Bear and Bouchard are more offensively minded.

Kerfoot isn't a bad player, but his ceiling is 3C and he didn't do terribly well in that role this season anyhow.
