Description

I'm not a huge fan of offer sheets, usually because they're almost always ineffective in terms of actually acquiring a player. Give up the goods for Cirelli if you really want him instead of trying some snake-oil tactic. If there's a CBO, wait to buyout Staal until the end of next season, so that Aho-Cirelli-Staal-Geekie are the 4 centers ready for a Cup run. The season after, we can run Aho-Cirelli-Geekie-Cotton (or UFA Signing).

A great idea in isolation, and no one can fault you on value (except for Carolina fans), but aren't you just adding to Tampa's already severe cap problem?

oh yeah you're right, so maybe you could remove the third and add a gourde, therefore having to sign cirelli for 6 years x 31.25M ($5 208 333 yearly (i like odd numbers))

No. The fact is that getting guys with team control and cost certainty helps Tampa rather than hurts them in making decisions. Cernak and the others won't be nearly as expensive to keep as Cirelli will be, especially if bridged.

LOL, I'm a Canes fan that's simply realistic about how much players cost.

If the Canes deal pending UFAs Dzingel and McGinn to different teams for draft picks, then the Canes can just acquire Gourde outright in a separate deal for a low pick or something like that, if Tampa really needs to dump him to get a Cernak signed, which I doubt.

Tampa is already projected to be over the cap for next season without adding 8 mil in contracts. The idea would likely be a 3 way trade where Pesce and Trocheck are traded somewhere else and Tampa gets cheaper contracts and draft picks.

Your Cirelli trade is a freaking joke? Trocheck+Pesce alone make about twice as much as what Cirelli will command. No way can Tampa afford to take on Trocheck and Pesce that close to $8.5 million combined. Give your head a shake here man.
