Wouldn't you rather trade Saad for picks? You've got Boqvist, Murphy, Mitchell, and Regula on the right side. I can't see why you'd want another RHD

Definitely agree with this thinking. However, a lot of fans will say that Saad has to be traded for parts that help us now. It’s the battle between “win now with Kane/Toews still prime” vs. “prepare for the future.” I’m part of the later. Get what picks you can for Saad and build for a better future.

You’re right side is set for years on defense. Why would you trade for Risto when you wouldn’t even draft byram on the left? This team is years from competing as is, so the smart thing to do is think about the future.
