-stamkos has 2 Maurice rockets. hes a lock. 2nd best goal scorer of this era.
-Marchand was a 2nd line winger most of his career. hes not a lock yet. he could get there, but certainly not yet.
-I agree with Marleau, but hes got the 5th most games played of all time (and counting). the HOF loves players with longevity. he'll make it even though I dont think he deserves it

-EK was the best D in the world on such a mediocre team (Ottawa). hes a HOFer even if he doesn't win a cup. hes got 2 Norris's under his belt, and 4 first team Allstars.
-hedman I can agree with though, he needs a cup, or another piece of hardware.
-letang/Pietro have had excellent careers but I wouldn't consider them locks. they're bubble guys.

-Rask I dont think is a lock yet either, besides his Vezina year, hes never been nominated again. hes a bubble guy imo.

Good points.
I'm not sold on Stammer - the Rockets are impt but he's limited in both NHL and INT team success.
EK ok yup, and even Hedman - hey they should be there when it's all said and done.

Marleau is the 'Mike Gartner' category - if he goes in it'll be after a lengthy wait.

I think you got to look closer at the whole picture wrt Letang (3-cups)/Pietro/Marchand and see the WJ-OLY-WC-SC etc. The Hall also likes to have players that can be seen as "niche" - ie: Neely as the text book power-forward. That could favour BM (the "good story" or "Rudy" if you will or more like the guy who'll gouge your eye out to get-a-Cookie) ha ha!!

I think Rask is in - multi-Jennings, Cup, Vez & 2-cup final loses, this year included puts him at #1/2 Vez picture w/ Hellebuyck. Not a lock but deserved of the list - he's been probably top 5 every year that's big for keepers.
Cheers

Hossa isnt on the bubble. He isnt a first ballot but he is a lock to be in he has a much better case than Marleau who you have as a lock for some reason.

They both are in the 1100pt range and there is only 30-40pts separating Marleau and Hossa despite Marleau playing over 1700 games while Hossa played 1300. Thats not even factoring in how more dominant Hossa was on both ends

JT91 imo is a lock. He’s too consistent to miss

Goalies have to do more than win cups, they have to transcend their positions. That’s why Price will be a HOFer (Gold medal, Jennings and Vezina), no cups or visits) and Osgood is fighting to get in (3 cups in 5 visits, 2 Jennings, 400+ wins).

I think Rask gets in, so does Lundqvist, Flower as well. I’m not sure Quick is guaranteed yet (he’s young enough to have another run). Vas isn’t close yet (still a long way to go). Holtby and Bob need more work before they get considered.

I wouldn't say lock.
But I think he's rowing along nicely in that "surely can't miss" boat (kinda a 'Marleau' but I like JT's chances more)...
Has solid INT success but lacks a piece of critical NHL hardware (one of: Hart, Rocket, Art Ross, Lindsay, Selke, SC, Conn); largely from being stuck on an "Island".

Think Quick is in w/ nice resume in both NHL and Intern = 2 Cups, a Conn, 2-Jenn and a OLY Silver...

Yeah you’re right hossa probably makes it. Though I think both of them shouldn’t

I forgot the Conn. Quick probably gets in.

Osgood should have won the Conn in 08. Maybe that would have made it easier for him to get in.

Seeing what you posted for Osgood there's only one question:
* WHY is he not in?

The voters think he was “carried” by great teams. Which is partially true, but since a goalie doesn’t score goals, he can only do what he does. Also, many forget he replaced Hasek in 08 and carried that team to the cup. He should definitely be in!

Hossa should, 3 titles, worse players than him already in the hall, pretty good international career for Slovakia and helped a 7-8th ranked country contend for a medal. If he is canadian he doesnt make it but being european and from a non big 5 hockey country helps him in this case helps him.

100% agree there are worse players in the Hall. there are a-lot of questionable picks and its kinda watered down the meaning of being a "Hall of Famer". Hossa gets in
