    That defense is still extremely weak.

    Smith is terrible. I get hes a cap dump but if they want to contend they should at least send him down and sign someone else

    Remove the 2nd coming going back to Bufalo and add a 3rd and it's a interesting deal. However, Mittelstadt is a project as everyone knows but his chances of being a solid top 6 center in the league are dwindling. For that reason, I don't think this is enough to get Chicago to pull the trigger. Smith can be bought out for $1m so taking on his cap dump isn't a big give by Buf

    Look at his career from 2017 to 2020 to stromes from 2015 to 2018. Dwindling is awfully pessimistic

    He went from being a NHL player in 2018/2019 (only producing 25 points) to spending 1/2 of this past season in the AHL....that isn't exactly upward momentum.

    I don’t think the hawks are giving up a 2C for another project player. Every Strome trade with Buffalo on this site involves mittelstadt because Buffalo fans know it would be a steal for them. That’s why I’ll counter with Strome for Reinhart.
