I offered Mike Cammalleri @ 50% retention, gave a young LW like Blandisi, and would add a 3rd for Fowler and got skewered for it.
Lupul is 1 yr younger, played similar games last handful of yrs give/take scored as lesser rate
How long left on Lupuls current contract?

Lupul is pretty much LTIR Why? would Anaheim have any interest in him. This is pretty bad.

bad trade, and Vesey can only be signed to a 925k ELC deal

Lupul's got this and next left. At $2.65, he could actually be a steal. Vesey's deal will be $925K plus bonuses for two years only, which likely gets him close to a $2.5M cap hit. Anahiem's issue is that they have a self imposed salary cap at roughly $65M, which they are already over and they still have to sign Rakell. The rumour implies that the Leafs are talking Fowler because his price has come down. This deal saves the Ducks money, adds a high risk-return forward and serviceable 7th defensemen and a decent 2nd round pick. I don't think its a bad deal. However, I did originally have Holland in the deal rather then Lups and that works for me too…

I don't think there's a ton of interest in Fowler and I think JVR is more important than Fowler to the Leafs, the Leafs could take Stoner back as well

I think you are mixing two "rumours" here, EKS rumour for Fowler did not name the leafs players involved as far as I know, and the 24/7 rumour had Lupul (along with a prospect) going to New Jersey.

COULD is the key word. They are not trading Fowler for garbage and a guy who COULD regain his form from 3-4 years ago. This is a terrible trade.

This rumour is also not true.
