I understand the idea and I don't hate it. It just can't be all the pieces in one deal. One team can't take Bozak Allen and Steen. Det is gonna need their own money too. I think this needs to be a three team deal or two separate trades.

Oh dear god this is awful. Detroit declines. With the way Bernier has been playing I'd take him over Allen. Steen and Bozak have no value to Detroit a team that is rebuilding. We is Detroit acquire 2 players that will probably be retired in a couple of seasons? I'm pretty sure Detroit isn't on Bozak's trade list and Steen isn't waiving for Detroit (thank god). Walman is 24 and is in his 4th season of pro hockey but he has only played 1 game in the NHL. Kostin has potential but he, Walman and a 4th isn't enough to take on Bozak and Steen's contracts. There is a very good chance that the player taken with that 2nd round pick will be better than the rest of the players in this deal.

Problem is two fold. Wings are not taking on 12 million in cap without a 1st round pick and a top 3 prospect. Also ther is zero chance Wings give up Bernier for Allen. They could add Allen but that would cost you something also. This trade is very lopsided, where Blues get a cheaper and very good backup, a decent faceoff guy with speed and penalty killer and the y give up really nothing that helps Wings now or in the future.
