Get real i wouldn't give Holtby more then 4 years $24 million he's been playing like garbage on a stacked Capitols team. Zero chance i see Pietrangelo signing in Ottawa. And good luck with Lafreniere if the league decides to go with the old format it's like Detroit 51% and Ottawa like 30% Like Detroit's odds there much better.

Call me crazy, but in some sick and twisted world, I can actually see the Alex Pietrangelo signing happening. Because it has been reported that he would not want to play in Toronto, but he is still relatively close to home. It has also been reported that he wants a long term deal worth big bucks, rather than the cautious option in our current situation of one to three years at lower value. The only issue that I can really see with this is that Eugene Melnyk would not be willing to pay that kind of money, but who knows, he might do it to try and make himself look good, but then trade him not even a year later!

Edit: Also, I do not believe that Ottawa would win the draft lottery. They'll probably fall to five and six, and probably select a Drysdale, Perfetti, or Raymond.
