only trade of the big 4 guys that actually makes the leafs better is the wild one, edmonton fans gonna come in here with pitchforks and have 8 year old temper tantrums but a package of marner and matthews for mcdavid is a win for the oilers,i know they would never trade him but it makes the oilers better and the nylander trade is an absolute joke

It's only a win for the oilers if the leafs retain half of marners contract and a chunk of Matthews contract too. Otherwise the oilers have to shed a ton of salary and end up in the same cap hell the leafs are in now

Edmonton can't afford both Matthews and Marner, Fat chance of Tavares waiving his NMC for Minnesota. And fat chance of Guerin dealing both Brodin and Dumba for those pieces. Why would Carolina have any interest in Andersen when they've Mrazek and Reimer for another season? And fat chance of Florida giving up those picks to move Bobrovsky what a joke.

not sure if you realize but the oilers cap situation is terrible as well, everyones quick to point fingers at the leafs for cap problems, i agree with you, but any oiler fan that says the value isnt there player wise is mistaken

I don't know, I think the Wild might take that deal depending on how Dermott is viewed. Dumba and Brodin being gone would open up a huge hole on their defense, but if they think Dermott could be a top 4 LHD, Soucy can play top 4 RD despite being a leftie so it might be worth getting a franchise center to them (ignoring the fact Tavares wouldn't likely waive anyhow).
