Description

With Cernak on the team, we can afford to use Pesce to acquire a goal scorer with term. Boeser for Pesce seems pretty fair. Pesce instantly becomes top pair RD on VAN, while Boeser becomes a player we can add to the top 6.

Gardiner and Niederreiter are both effective and would thrive on teams where they can be slotted up in the line-up. Foegele can fill Nino's shoes and Skjei makes Gardiner redundant.

Finally we get a starting goalie in Markstrom which means one or both of Reimer and Mrazek will be headed out. I picked Mrazek to Chicago but it could be either goalie really anywhere.

I wouldn't do this if I were Vancouver. Their giving a guy who can score 30+ goals for a guy they don'y need. Don't get me wrong Pesce is great but they really have no need for him with Tanev, Myers Stecher

I'm intrigued. But you also took our goalie. We would be doing this trade for cap relief to bring back Markstrom.

CAR adds here too. But I wouldn't call this awful.

Pretty sure Can is set at RHD with Myers, Tanev (who they can sign around 5 million) and Stetcher - really don't see how if Boeser is trade chip that Pesce is the target

nope. he hasn't proven enough. We need markstrom for at least a year more.

The taxes are irrelevant - they'd have to match the contract - once an OS is signed they have to match the contract they can't put in an offer lower even if the taxes even out to the same money - Tampa's hoping to sign Cernak to 3 years around 6 million the offer up top here is 4 years 16 million - the tax savings in Tampa on 6 million don't come close to take home money on 16 million
