When this all gets sorted out

Created by: McPhee_Moustache
Team: 2020-21 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: May 5, 2020
Published: May 5, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Assumptions:
- No CBO
- Early draft is in June but GM's are granted the ability to pre-arrange deals for picks (2020) and players are dealt in the off-season. Kind of like how the NBA draft works out, where a team drafts a player for another team and then trades the pick later on.

So the price of St. Louis getting rid of Bozak is downgrading from a first to a second?

Kulak and Maatta are pretty much the same but considering the salary difference and the fact that Montreal will need space next year they are more likely to keep Kulak.

Figured a jump from 1st to 3rd might of been a stretch

I don't think Montreal has much interest in Maatta, He really isn't better than what we have and he's making a lot more than our players are.

That Bozak trade is interesting, Bozak is severely overpaid, but if we could trade him by retaining 50%, I think it would be worth it.

I guess I overvalue Mattaa too much. I agree on the Bozak, but St-Louis will be attempted to dump salary for AP, so retaining is a tough sell

what? he doesn't have negative value.
Replace it with Steen and they may consider it

You're right, he doesn't have negative value. But STL is looking to offload $$$ for AP and Steen's NMC is more restrictive is finding a trading partner

Is 5 millions salary have a negative value. We are talking about a 35 years old players who have seen is stats significantly drop over the past 3 season. He wouldn’t even reached 35 point this year. The fact that St louis need cap space team have leverage over them. Considering that Marleau cost toronto a 1st round pick this 30 spot swap in the draft isn’t that bad at all

I like the idea of taking cap to get a first but I’d get rid of that 2nd rounder. I’d also try and get Allen instead of Bozak as we legit need a back up. Not sure how that would all work out though in terms of cost.

I can’t see KK being in Laval all season so we really don’t need Bozak
