That Zadorov contract is awful, he shouldnt get more then 2M. Idk why you are trading a 1st for him when he's not that good

Aside that COL trade, all moves here are terrible for TB.

Also ever heard of NTC? All but McElhinney have one from those players you traded, and they've no reason to waive for the worst team in the league.

Well to be fair he's due to get $3,2M as that is his qualifying offer.

What do you expect to received for Gourde?? Is contract is very bad and he still have 4 years left on it. At over 5 millions It will probably cost Tampa get ride of him.

You aren't trading Gourde at full salary.

I wouldn't even move him in his current situation. I'd rather wait and see if he can make a bounceback.

Steve Yzerman?

Yzerman screwed TB over and fled to Detroit when he realized he was f*cked. I don't think the players would run to him necessarily.

How did he screw over TB? He built a powerhouse. It's not his fault they can't win right now.

Check their cap situation for once. He built the team in a way they are unable to financially sustain it. He also gave NTCs player like it was nothing, making moving them extremely hard. They're forced to make some dramatic actions to get through this, that'll most likely be extremely harmful for them as a team.

The NTC were in part because the players took massive discounts to remain in Tampa Bay. The team is a powerhouse. You guys have a Franchise level goaltender, two #1 defensemen, and 2/3 franchise level players. Blaming him is very stupid. If it wasn't for him, they would've been moved to Quebec by now.

Massive discounts my butt. NTCs or not, Johnson, Palat and Gourde wouldn't have get any more than they did with or without NTCs. Same goes for Killer and McDonagh as well.

Stamkos and Kucherov were both steals the day they were signed. Hedmen easily could've got 9+ Million. Even McDonagh is a good deal considering how good he is. Maybe Killorn isn't worth the contract, but it's manageable.

Yeah I do agree that he did terrific job with the star assets. What I did not like is that he gave their mid-6 player so big contracts with full NTCs and then just left without a warning.

Yeah, it sucks that they are in a cap crunch and can't move anybody because of the NTC/NMC, but atleast he guaranteed them being contenders 10 the next decade.

Not really, if they lose players like Sergachev and Cirelli...

The day Justin Abdelkader enters Amalie arena in a Lightning sweater is the day I cancel my season tickets. That baffoon would have to pay us $2m a year.

I get there's a cap savings but there's no way we're giving Stevie a player like Palat while doing him a huge favor taking a terrible contract off his 23 PLUS donating a 3 rd pick. Why not throw in a Ferrari and a harem of virgins?

Not sure why that's Yzerman's fault.

Not sure what that's Yzerman's fault. He didn't sign guys like McEhlinney or Coburn. That money could've easily been replaced by a young ELC player.

Yeah those deals sucked.

It's not necessarily his fault, but the contracts he made before that included the NTCs are sort of his fault.

But it got those star players taking Millions less than they deserved. Without him, this team would've been way worse off.

Don't think so. Palat, Johnson, Gourde or Killorn wouldn't be worth "millions" more than they're getting now, with or without NTC.

I'm not talking about Palat, I'm talking about your stars. Also, most of these deals were signed when they weren't even in their primes yet. Yzerman couldn't predict they all would plateau

I mostly think he foresaw what was going to happen - namely this sh*t where they have some youngsters to sign but at the same time they're unable to move other players without their consent, which is why he left.

I think Yzerman did terrific job with the star players such as Stammer and Kucherov. The mid-6 assets got some salty contracts, as I previously explained,

The Mid 6 got salty contracts after posting career years. You wouldn't be complaining if you currently had 6 stars on your forward core right now, would you? You go with what information you have. Regardless, he built a consistent contender.
