The return isn't enough for TBL.

I think the biggest thing about a trade to detroit is it would have to include next years first because as they are so bad, they are probably going to be a lottery pick again next year, and that is what he would get from an offer sheet. So they probably start with next years first and cholowski, and balance it from there

The 2nds should be the Detroit ones and a player like Rassmussen should replace Erne or Glendening.

Detroit could do that but it seems a bit much with taking Palat's contract as well.

Well Sergachev is a 22 years old already top4 defensman with high chance of being elite sooner than later. For Palat, he's still 29 and can produce 40-50 pts on a 5M deal for just 2 more years. He isnt a capdump even if his departure helps Tampa. In my opinion even with the changes I told you, I would not do that deal if I were Tampa. They can get a better offer for sure or trade them seperatly and get more value.

Yeah I'd ask for it If I was Tampa but because Detroit so bad it's exactly why they can't do it.

Tampa is going to need to find a dance partner to take some salary so they resign some guys. Might be easier said than done so they might have to take an L in a trade to keeping winning on the ice.
