When moving a player with very little value coming back from a bad knee injury, trying to make cap room to make your roster fit for the season, you dont necessarily have the leverage to make the team better. Its fulfilling the Leafs needs at as little cost as possible.

You do realize the goal of teams with young players is that the players improve as they mature?

Trades are not the only way to improve a team.

I'd tweak a few things, but I agree with most of what's happened here, and IMO our biggest move this summer is to shed cap (likely Johnsson).

Curious to hear what you would change.

Think it's clear that Spezza and Clifford would like to re-sign with the leafs, and from reading a few different articles, i thinking the feeling is mutual on Leafs side.

I think with all that's going on in with revenues Clifford will have to lower his demands a bit from what he would have been able to get 6 months ago.

So, I'd have Clifford/Engvall in the 3rd & 4th LW spots, and Spezza back in the 4th C spot.

I've read all the Robertson articles, and it's certainly tempting to believe he'll make the cut, I just can't get pass the fact he'll just be turning 19 in September (so 5 days away from being in 2020 draft). Hughes and Kakko could barely make an impact this year. Kaako for example turned 19 in Feb 2020, when he still wasn't that impactful and Robertson will be turning 19 a month before season starts (or 3 months, who knows).

They decline. Johnsson is worth at absolute best the second, and bracco has no value.
