I'm not certain that would be quite enough for the Oilers. Unless the cap savings was that important to them.

I'm not a huge fan of the Pittsburgh deal at all.

That bottom six just got a lot worse here IMO.

I think the oilers would move larson so they can sign their younger d like benning and the pittsburgh trade is for the future, it is a cap dump to sign mikheyev and toher guys and the picks could land them pretty good prospects

Larsson isn't a good defenceman, there are no metrics showing him as anything other than a slightly better gudbranson type. He doesn't handle the puck well, contributes nothing to possession numbers and gets caved in by top competition. He should be making 2-2.5 million on the bottom pair as a PK guy.

nah not benning. the only way I see the oilers moving out larsson is if bouchard is ready enough which he probably isn't. There's aalso the fact that the oilers don't want to lose larsson in free agency so I think he gets traded during the trade deadline

No these are possession and expected goal numbers which Larsson has almost always been bad at. I he had 1 season where his Corsi was above 50% and the rest of his career he's been below. Last season his numbers were utterly terrible, mainly because Klefbom was hurt and Larsson had to carry extra weight that he has no hope of ever being able to carry. He just isn't good.

Larsson I think missed 20 something games and so that ruined his season

What about all his other seasons in which he has shown nothing but below average numbers in almost all advanced metrics?

They might move Larsson, but not for Johnsson. They have no interest in him.

in 2017-18 I think his dad died which would take a toll on anyone
in 2018-19 I heard some oilers commentators saying that larsson had a really bad back
while this season his injury at the begining of the season messed him entire season up

Literally his entire career, he's been at or below 50% in almost all advanced stats. He was never really good and he's never gotten better.
