That's not even close to enough for Eichel

Eichel is a franchise centre. You gave Buffalo two guys that may become good second liners plus a late first rounder. An Eichel trade starts with 1st + Vaakanainen + Studnicka. And I thought leafs fans overrated their players.

You can give me a description of why you believe its an undervalue, or can be ignored.
But "hes gonna argue with you about that watch out" is a dumb statement
and "bruins prospects and players get a boost cause they play for boston dont you now that" is even more dumb so impressive lol

Looking through recent posts, Silkysmooth42 did make a good point about this. Bruins aren’t giving up their two best prospects for a player that they do not need (another Ceneter)

Value wise it works to do Eichel for Stud, Urho, a 1st, and maybe one roster guy like Ritchie, but bruins wouldn’t do it and shoot themselves in the foot.

The reason they are here today is by continuing to load prospects (pasta, mcavoy, Carlo, debrusk) while remaining competitive.

Also Jost and Stud will be top 6 guys, and Ritchie and Kase still can be easily, so 4 top6 guys actually and 2 possible/likely 1st liners

One point that has been brought up previously. Teams that have low 1st round picks might have a tough time convincing Buffalo that they are not adding some stud NHL players to any deal for Eichel. The Sabres are gonna need something to quell season ticket holders and fans, No ?

I think Vaakanainen with Studnicka along with a 1st is a great start. But the ArmChairGM might also say, “I need someone who can fill up the net coming back”. Just some thoughts.

Eichel is a 23 year old elite 1C. You can't acquire that kind of player with quantity. Jost + Studnicka + late 1st in a weaker draft are decentpieces but none of them are even close to Eichels value. Unless you are sending Pastrnak or McAvoy++ then I don't see why BUF would accept

Unfortunately, what happens when a player asks to be traded or has to be traded, their value drops (think about seguin from Boston, terrible trade)

Maybe a bottom tier team will give you a top player for eichel, but any team thats doing pretty well rn isnt gonna give up a star.
In saying that, Jost and Studnicka are big pieces. Kase and Ritchie are not small pieces by any means either

Good explanation! Perhaps it could be that, but not much more, again a guy who wants out does lower his value. Bruins dont need a center.
So IFFFF it happens with the bruins, it wont be much more than my trade, or Stud+Urho+1st+maybe Ritchie or something

While Seguin's and Eichel's situations are similar, the players are in different stages of their career. Tyler Seguin was on his way to being an established elite player in the league when Boston decided to move him. Eichel on the other hand is there. Also in Seguin's case I think the off ice antics were a factor in the return BOS got. I dont know anything about if Eichel has off ice issues, but if there isnt any then I dont think you can compare the two. I just can't see a top 5 player at that position lose that much value in a trade. He still has years left on his deal. I could see a deal like this, maybe subtract Ritchie, more as a possibility in his contract year when Buffalo could be strapped for offers and wont want to lose him for nothing. Obviously if that was the situation Eichel would be coming with an extension as well. Just my opinion on it.

So refreshing to see 12th place 'fans' with the chops to cr*p on a 100pt-club...
Good thing the Leaf pool is as deep as a pudding bowl, all-thum-while pickin' in the top-10 or "AM-tanking" since Dougie left in 1997!

Good points!
My response there would be this: you are right about the points in their career, but my thought is this: Seguins issue seemed to be because he was fooling around with Hortons wife or something, so they technically could have traded Horton and kept their good prospect. Eichels case on the other hand is that he expressed that he isnt happy playing there, so it seems that if they are to trade someone, it HAS to be him. IDK bro but thats my take on that.

In saying that: I tried to make sure he reallllly didnt lose much value at all.

Obviously Eichel > Seguin

Studnicka (my trade) > Rielly Smith (when he was a prospect in that trade)
1st rounder > Joe Morrow
Ritchie > Matt Fraser
Jost + Kase = or > Erikkson (Hard to compare but thats my best option)

Oh also bruins gave up Peverly in the trade so they had to throw in more.

My point is, while Eichel is Better, the Sabres return is MUCH better and the didnt also have to give up a solid 3rd liner

IDK dawg, that was long but I hope it helps lol

I get your point, and from a value stand point it isnt an unfair offer, but IF Eichel were to get traded I think they would rather have more of a guaranteed package coming back. Stud, Ritchie, Kase, Jost could all be studs and if not, it would give the Sabres great depth for sure. But Ritchie is starting to plateau, Kase cant seem to stay healthy (is great when he is), Jost I like but dont know much about his development as a player so far so I wont touch on him, and Stud who we all hope becomes that high end C2 borderline C1 player are all players who arent guarantees to reach their potential. Currently right now if Buffalo were to trade him, I think they demand a veteran 1st line player in their prime + a solid 3rd line player player who can overachieve in the Sabres system + a top 3 prospect in said organization + a 1st round pick. You have 3 of the 4. Just missing the big fish. Pacioretty + Tuch + Krebs + 1st. It sounds like a lot but getting a 23 year old top 5 center in the league is going to cost you. I don't think Vegas is remotely the right match but it's probably the best example I can think of for what I think it would cost to get Eichel today.

On a side note: the Seguin trade. I think Bruins management porked this one big time. I think they panicked and other GMs could sense it. Eichel has been saying stuff about hating playing for a losing team and how he's sick of it but Buffalo hasn't budged. Sabres front office isn't panicking, yet at least.

not crapping on the club at all, no ground to stand on with that, crapping on whats being offered foe eichel and it being justified as it being enough but meanwhile the 1 one prospect coming is the top prospect of a weak prospect class along with ritchie whos is a 3/4 liner kase who is a 3rd liner 2nd at most, and jost who probbaly has the potential to be better, but nothing he has done is enough leverage to get Jack EIchel a top 10 center in the NHL, this offer is a perfect example of quality over quantity, also the leafs did better than the bruins from 98-07, since then other way around 100% but if youre gonna try use that as a chirp at least get your facts straight
