The difference between Danault and Kerfoot really isn't all that much, again Danault is a UFA in 1 year and if he's as good as your claiming he's getting 5/6 million on his next contract, this trade is straight bad for the Leafs long term. Petry is a 2nd pair guy not a top pair guy been over this time and time again. I'll take my chances and keep Kerfoot, Liljegren the 1st and 2-2nds over a single year of both those players , still make the playoffs while Habs dont

Danault is so much better, it’s not close. Petry is a first d. Okay keep ur guys I don’t give a ****. And ya we aren’t making the playoffs but when u haven’t won since 67 u can’t throw shade at anyone

I’d rather Timothy than Kapanen. And rentals at the deadline probably wouldn’t get u a stud. Now yes maybe a sign and trade but can u think of a young rhd prospect better than this one? The more picks the better. We’ll have four 2 meaning we can maybe trade to the end of the first.

Jokiharju is gonna be better. Only a year under his belt. Dobson I think will be better too. Bouchard for sure.

I am a proponent that at some point Montreal has to make an agressive move. Picks are warm and fuzzy, but that franchise has been spinnjng wheel since for almost a decade. Cap room a plenty, a great crop of youngsters..... get bold!!! Lol

That’s what I tried here. Lol
I can’t see any of them being moved, unless it’s like this. But those teams aren’t in a weird place like the leafs

U could easily find the room for one if not both. It’s a risk but (I know I’m a Habs fan and blah blah blah) but the leafs are still a ways away from the cup

We're up against the cap and need to resign Fred and Rielly in the next 2 seasons, don't know how they'd easily find the room to sign both for $5Mish a year

Petry is a number one rhd. Those aren’t cheap. Danault is a 1c or elite 2C, those aren’t cheap. So yes u give up some young kids, but u become instant cup favourites and keep ur two best prospects

Amazing. He is a number one right handed defensemen according to you and your sources (if you have any). I would prefer a Manson and other depth pieces added to the trade puzzle whilst giving up our future assets and current roster players such as: Kerfoot, Kapanen, Dermott, or to trade with the CBJ for a David Savard and Josh Anderson. What happens with the trade, all I know from the Leafs standpoint, huge overpayment for your Petry.

Leafs have to trade one of them just to keep their current team already, cap isn't going up by much and they have other players to re-sign.

Well, there were trade rumours around Savard, which is why I'm making a remark on his availability. The Leafs and CBJ are perfect trade partners. We need defensive help while the BJ need offensive help.

The Leafs are not giving an extra two 2nd round picks for two rental players. Keep dreaming.

Thats honestly not enough for both

Main issue Danault will want a tonne of money and we cannot afford him lul. If he joins the leafs he probs would reach 60 points and cost between 4-5mill

When did I say anything like that? Go back and read my comments, I was talking about re-signing other Leafs vs. Petry and Danualt

It’s a risk for sure. But to get that talent for a playoff run and extend petry maybe. Not trying to be a **** but u haven’t won a series, so maybe a wow trade is necessary

Yeah im all in for it. Dubas can work out an early extension for either on arrival as Danault is pretty much a 3c the leafs need. Kerfoot is fine but his FOW% is terrible and faceoffs can often decide games. Heck even Gauthier has a better FOW. As for Petry if Dubas can work things out and get both to sign extensions im in.

Seattle can work its magic take someone like Holl and Dubas can throw someone in to get some extra cap space.
