2 Trades in the Offseason

Created by: TWOminutes4surging
Team: 2020-21 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 3, 2020
Published: Jun. 11, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think Palmieri would be the perfect veteran replacement for Justin Williams if he would wave for a contender. NJD would get a replacement for Palms while upgrading their D as well.

E. Svechnikov needs a change of scenery and could succeed with his brother. DET gets a cheap solid goalie and a proven bottom six/PK specialist for next season who could be re-signed or flipped at the DL, and a high ceiling prospect.

BIG overpay on Detroit trade. You could 1-for-1 E Svech with Fleury

I like the idea of the NJD trade, but that value is off

I agree with the Detroit trade. While I do think Carolina is the best spot for Evgeny but Detroit doesn't need another goalie over 30 and they don't need 2 more wingers. They do need a left defenseman.

I think your onto something with jersey deal not sure I’d be sold on it as is but definitely onto something.
Detroit deal I get where your thinking is at but I just don’t see Detroit pulling that trigger.

I don't think trading Fleury the best option. One of our D-men will most likely be taken in the expansion draft. So whether it is Skjei, Fleury or Bean, we will need a to keep Fleury. We don't really need McGinn or Reimer in this scenario and Tieksola is the cost of helps offset gaining a young forward with potential.

Reimer is freaking 32 years old and McGinn is 26 years old. Svechnikov is 23 you don't trade young players for older players. Detroit doesn't want or need Reimer and we don't need McGinn. Fleury would be a nice piece 1 for 1 for Svechnikov.

Reimer is a lot younger than Howard and similar age to Bernier, and posted better numbers than both. Upgrading in net is definitely something DET needs. McGinn is better than Ehn, Erne, Perlini, Helm, Etc. He may be 26 but he is an upgrade on half of DET's line-up. So are you saying you would rather not upgrade DET's line-up at the cost of a player who they will not call-up, while also getting a decent prospect in return?

NJ isn't going to be competitive for a while, they're looking for picks and prospects in any Palmieri deal

3 way deal with Detroit might work out including Edmonton.
Jones young left handed d that’s taken big strides last two years and without question ready for full time action can become top 4 for Detroit for many many years to come. Very smart and has continued to improve.
Neal I know most can’t look past that he gets paid. But Detroit needs more goals and EVERYTIME he’s put in a top six role he produces goals. 20+. Edmonton only looking to shed his salary because he’s not a bottom six winger and no room in top six.
Neal and jones for svechnikov.
1 young good left handed d to grow with the team and a useful top six winger without touching draft capital only youth taking is one that Detroit is most likely prepared to move on from.
Flip to Carolina for Reimer and a bag of pucks.
