That leaves Raymond and Perfetti. No way do Hawks reach beyond Sanderson for D. If Raymond or Perfetti are there (according to your list) they will take either one for sure.

I would say you are right on the D, but there are a few interesting people there. And some teams will reach.
My honest opinion is beyond Sanderson there is a huge drop off. But we'll see.
I'm not sure teams will go after Raymond. His drop off out of the Junior league was noticeable. Where a guy like Holtz put up decent numbers.
He's still young, given, he did well in juniors. But he was a guy suppose to be ready for a next step and he clearly wasn't.

Agree there is a pretty big drop off after Sanderson on D and because of that, the Hawks are already loaded with bottom 4 prospects and besides Boqvist and Mitchell on the right, none of the prospects are likely 1st line material leaving a big hole on the left. Plenty of guys for bottom 4 (Beaudin, Krys, Carlsson, Regula, Vlasic) very solid but not top line guys.

I could see Raymond falling but the kid just turned 18 and surely needs a year or two of development. Raw skill, he looks to be very much like a Saad type of player. Perfetti has everything except his skating needs a bit of work. That worries me but if he can fix that, he might be the best well rounded player outside of the top 3 and a great pickup.

Is it asking too much if we drafted lundell and kept strome to play Dach at wing? Strome should never go back to wing as you pointed out. Meanwhile, lundell has all the traits of a center from two way play to faceoffs to possession metrics. I mean, is that such a terrible thing to try?

Other then Dach's faceoff skill needing more work, he's a better talent then Lundell IMO. I think you look to Dach and Lundell as your top 2 centers of the future and move Strome in another year. You can certainly try either Lundell or Dach at the wing too in the meantime. Then again, Lundell, Dach, Toews, Strome as your 4 centers in the league (if we can afford it) would probably be the best center depth in the league. Having too many defenders and centers is a good problem versus too many wingers and not enough centers.

You’re spot on, it’s great problems to have. I do believe center depth isn’t the end all be though, considering in 2010, toews and bolland were the only clear centers, 2013 was toews, bolland, and the last bit of handzus, and 2015 was toews, the last bit of Richards, then vermette and deajardins. Point I’m making is that, save for 2015, the hawks really knew how to win without center depth. Not to mention 2015 was by far the “worst” team of the three cups. Then again, back on lundell, I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see lundell back in Finland for another year.

No, it's not the end all to be all, but having that many centers is better then having extra wingers as they are more valuable to the team and as trade value.

It would probably be fine, but I think Dach is a natural center. The easiest way to solve the problem is keeping strome while Lundell adjusts and maybe trading him at the TDL

Or holding onto Strome for the entire season and let Lundell develop further either in or out of the NHL.
