The Initials are a little bit painful for a non-Nucks fan.

I don't see TO doing that, they would have to protect him and have better players they will have to protect.

Unfortunately for the Canucks I don't see any of the three UFA's taking one year deals. I think the priority signing should be Markstrom, but only if there's not a NMC included. The team needs to be able to choose who they want to protect out of the two a year from now.

Just looked it up; Ferly's NMC turns to a modified NTC starting in the 2021/22 season. Does that mean the team can leave him unprotected, or if the expansion draft is held in June 2021 do they have to abide by his full NMC clause for the 2020/21 season?

The calendar date may be the critical factor of which comes first the NTC's conversion or the exp-draft?
My guess after reading the note below from CF is the exp-draft is first and thus he's an NMC.
The start of the "season" seems more like Sep-Oct training camp/exhibition/season puck drop...

No Movement Clauses
Players with a “No Movement” clause that is currently in effect, and continues to be in effect at the time of the Expansion Draft, must be protected by their respective team, unless such players choose to waive their NMC, at which point the team is free to expose them.

Yeah could be a CF-system glitch? Site is still on 2019-20 and sometimes does not rollover that well. I've experienced it with setting RFAs...
MF's CF page has a note: CLAUSE DETAILS: 2021-22: Player submits a 10 team no trade list; 2022-23: Player submits a 8 team no trade list

He may be left out of expansion due to injury or retire.
Hopefully he's improving but playing may be real risky...

i looked on CF's expansion draft when making this, Ferland was not a required protect, and Hughes was exempt as he will only be a second year at that time.

but yea... a lot of dead weight buried in Utica.

* Think it's a CF issue because of the current calendar date. Do the CF-expansion simulator after 3/4 of next season has been played and new guys, playing full time like QH are in a diff class; No?
