Kings decline. If they're shopping for cap dumps, they'll go all in and look for a 1st in return. They have no desire to dump MacDermid either.

Not enough coming back
For montreal. Only a 2021 1st coming back in a bad draft for a #1-2 defenseman still good for another 3 years. We need more to trade Weber

Montreal isn’t trading Weber. While he may not be a number 1 forever, he’s still our captain and extremely important on and off the ice. The contract isn’t bad, and worst case scenario he’s overpaid by a few million a few years from now, which is fine. He is, for all intents and purposes, untouchable, since they aren’t trading him away unless someone overpays substantially, but no one will do that.

As for this specific trade, we’re destroying the weakest position in our organization, RHD. And with the upcoming cap crunch our team will have, you’re pretty much giving up about as much as it would cost to move Eriksson. Which means we’re giving up Weber for free, which is just ridiculous.
