When they do, they think Miller or Montour is worth a Kapanen.

Lol you call him a 6th/7th D and play him on the top pairing. If you plan on playing him there (and he is much better than the rest of the right side), absolutely the ask would be a player like Kapanen. Johnsson is great and all but we don't need LWs, we need RWs

Montour for Kapanen isn’t egregious at all regardless of what Leafs fans say. Value is close. Miller would need an add for Kapanen.

IMPORTANT FOR LEAF FANS

YOURE NOT GETTING A FIRST FOR KAP

Ok that's cool, it's a complete BS statement but whatever, the point is Leafs have 0 intrestand I mean 0 interest in moving Kap unless it's an overpayment so a 1st would be required or a Top 4 RHD to even get a conversation started - Kap is not some spare part , he is not a cap casualty and is a very effective 40 pt 3rd line player in TO - so explain to me why the Leafs would move him for anything less than their asking price?

Then dont move him lol. When I see him moved it's for a 1st.
I never said that he is worth miller or whomever I just said he ain't worth a first.

Then he wouldn’t be traded. He’s a developed 1st round pick. He is fast gritty, scores big goals and has developed his puck possession. He’s a 20 goal scorer playing on the 3rd line. I think scouts would grade him on his skill not just results.

You're right then he wont lol. Everyone has a tendency to over value their own. And scouts would evaluate him on his skill and front office would say were not trading a 1st for just a 3rd liner. I know your offense is stacked comparably but your 3ed line is still playing against other teams lower lines have to take that into consideration. He is valuable and I would live him on my team but not for no 1st

So his value of a 1st goes down now that he is scoring 20 goals on the third line? I’m not over valuing him. I’m just stating the obvious. You don’t trade nhl caliber first round picks for 2nds or 3rds.

He’s played up and down our lineup, and yes even guys who have played on the third line have gone for firsts. Most players in the nhl have been on the third line at some point.
