Yzerman laughs at that trade. Wings should be receiving the 2nd instead of giving it to take that contract for a 3rd pair Dman.

Not saying that the Wings should be trading a 2nd rounder for Leddy, but he's easily the second best defenseman on Detroit, regardless of cap hit

Sure, especially for Detroit. I think a 3rd is fair and the Islanders could send back a 5th or 6th or something like that

Definitely fair in terms of value I just don't see any reason why Yzerman would part with picks when Leddy makes no difference for this team. I do love him as a player though

Yes that is true but Detroit really only has 2 good defenseman and some prospects.

That's fair, I don't really see Detroit as much of a likely destination for that reason too. LA and Winnipeg are teams I think could fit a little better for him right now
