Still don't know why the Red Wings would do that Isles deal, but Isles take that no problem.

If Tyler Johnson waives his NTC to be traded the Lightning will be able to move him without adding those kinds of draft pick assets, that is crazy.

We can flip Leddy/Boychuck either the same year or next and we have the cap space to retain salary when we do, making it easier. I like Aho as a prospect, but if you want to throw more in go right on ahead

With his contract I disagree. I see that as a huge liability.

If that's how you feel then sure, I'd add a 3rd to get it done.

As an Islanders fan, I'd be down with that trade. I don't think Boychuk will have Detroit on his 8 team trade list though

I disagree. Hes far from a liability. He would be a good add to whatever team he would go to. And hes also only getting paid 5m until hes 32. not bad at all

Still not sure about the Islanders deal. I'd rather just take Boychuk + 1st (or similar trade) without Leddy. Eriksson+Demko+2nd is good. No way Tampa would pay that much to get rid of TJ. He's still a good middle 6 forward. Maybe overpayed a bit, but at most, the Lightning would have to give 1 mid-round pick to drop him. Also, not a big deal but Fabbri will cost probably round 2.5-3 mil for 2 years.

It's probably just my personal bias against and hatred for Tyler Johnson that's showing, because he used to single handedly destroy the Wings when we played TB lol

Isles would do that in a heartbeat but as @ForsbergForVezina said I doubt Boychuk waives for DET if that's his final destination. He would either want to be bought out or flipped somewhere as part of a larger trade

LOL.. he was a Redwing killer for sure. The running joke among Lightning fans was that Tyler Johnson must be color blind because he loves to only score against teams wearing red.
