Sakic laughs so hard, he ends up calling his best pal Lamoriello and they laugh together.

penguins have no interest in Johnsson and it don't cost Murray to move JJ.

lol, Mackinnon isn't for sale, especially not for pieces like that. Tavares is soon to be 30, Andersen is a pending UFA, Liljegren isn't even an NHL player yet, and a late 1st that's also a year away. Not even close

No chance Ottawa takes Jack Johnson's contract to go from early 2020 4th rounder to a late 2022 3rd. Even if the pick were better it would still be a no.

Yeah I'm baffled by how the OP can think Jack Johnson can have bad enough value to drag Murray's value down to being equivalent to Andreas johnsson, but then be basically a net zero player in the Ottawa trade. The early 4th is only like 10 picks below a late 3rd, and considering that the 3rd is 3 drafts away I'd say that the 2020 4th is actually more valuable. If it was that easy for Pittsburgh to move JJ they would just to that trade themselves and then trade Murray for full value.

A very good point! I hadn't even clocked that initial trade that landed JJ in TOR.
And when I make my trades I really try to look at things like "What is the LHD depth of the team I am trying to move JJ to?" because that's also a pretty big factor. But I think a lot of ACGMs don't look much past their own team's needs.

Murray, Johnson for Johnsson.

Pens pass without pause.

You then pass Johnson to Ottawa for a flip of 3rd/4th. Why wouldn't the Pens just do that? Plus this basically makes Murray for Johnsson, which is no. Change it to Kapanen and we can start talking.
