People can do whatever they want.

Personally I think this makes the team better. Kapanen is a top 6 forward but is pushed into the 3rd line and we don't have a strong #1 RHD.

They are 10 time better with Klingberg then with who else they have on the right side at the moment. A defenseman who can play 22 + minutes a night pk, pp, even strength against top opponent. Worth lot more then a fringe Nylander who disappear when real hockey starts.

you just upset so many TML fans. Nylander is " as good as Marner". i was told that once. he also " is going to be a 40-50 goal guy"

no no..he was on pace for 37 this year. that means next year he will score 45. then 55 by 21-22. its basic TML math!! all the numbers point to the obvious ha. in a career year he was on pace for 70 points clearly he is Mitch Marner equivalent. He is a "top 10 winger" ignore last year and only focus on this year!!! ( ihate myself right now)

In my humble opinion, I think that the value of that trade is pretty much OK. If there is a gap, I believe it's not a big one. And this gap can be on Toronto or Dallas sides depending on which fan you are talking to smile

But I think Nill would refuse because it would create a major hole on the right side of the D and also because I really do not think that Dallas is that far on the offensive potential. Gurianov and Hintz are both 23 years old and their production should continue to rise as they have not even reach their prime. In other words, Dallas offensive problems needs little repairs and not a big offensive part like Nylander.

Also, Robertson is quite a Gem. This young man will become a decent Top six forward in the very near future.

Mitch Marner is a elite players that can make thibg that only a couple of dude around the league can make. He is still very young and will just get even better. Guentzel is a extremely valuable players but he doesn’t have the set skill that Marner have. He is more of a sniper then anything else.

If you don't look at the contract. Marner is significantly better.

Marner is better but I’m taking Guentzel every time bc he make half and he’s only a slight downgrade. Imo Guentzel is a great example of a team guy. He wants to win. Marner chased the money and his team will suffer bc of it

ignorant comment, guentzel signed his contract at 24 years old after a 48 point season, marner signed his at 22 after a 94 point year, he didnt take a team friendly deal, , if you look at some of the other guys who make a similar AAV, majority of them actually had better years before signing that contract, ex. monahan, schiefele, barkov. stop acting like guentzel had his best years going into the contract and signed a team friendly deal t 6m when he could have gotten 8+, today he would probbaly get that, but in no way did he deserve it at the time

interesting take and actually i find the wording funny. "ignorant comment" how ironic haha .Guentzel signed his deal mid season 18-19 where he had 76 points in 82games..... it was also the season following him WINNING A CUP!! ill say it again WINNING A CUP. yeah in those playoffs he had 21 points in 25 games... is that good? how did marner do in those playoffs? Guentzel could have got more than 6 million any INTELLIGENT person knows that cough cough. on the same point Guentzel contract is considered one of the best in the NHL today. MArner on the other hand is laughable and considered average at best. so Guenzel took a TEAM Friendly deal (common sense) Marner took a selfish deal!!! Nylander makes more than Guentzel lmfao.

6 million for a nearly ppg reg season/playoff player..... woof solid point though. you really showed me how ignorant i am lol

what could he have gotten? enlighten me? how much of a discount did he take!?lmao put marner with crosby in those playoffs and see how he does, give your head a shake ahaha, once again guentzel was 24 and marner was 22 coming off a 94 point year, hes only gonna get better, selfish is so funny, every player who takes more than 10m from hear on out is selfish lol

so i guess we are going to just ignore how you completely dropped the ball on his stats before he signed his deal? yeah that makes sense... so yeah lets see a player on pace for 40 goals and 70+ points is worth more than 6 million.... but if you think 6 million is what a 40 g 76 point guy should get. than in the same season you justify a 26!! yeah he only got 26 goals 94 point guys should get close to 11 million? 14 less goals but 18 more points should get you 5 million dollars more! and marner doesnt have a cup or any type of creditable playoff success ...... makes sense seriously man you are really showing me how ignorant i was.... 18 points more scoring 14 less goals gets a players value over 5 million more smile... i was blind and now i can see!!!

edit:
hes also only going to get better? he was on pace to score 1 less point this year? sounds like 94 points is more than 93? is that better? i think guentzel was on pace for 90 points this year... that looks like hes improving and "only getting better" smile same point production for 5 million less...22 goal pace also!!!

yes but do you sign a guy for something hes on pace for? what do you think guientzell would have gotten? like how much did he take less? he didnt have those numnbers when he signed, sure he was on pace but once again if guys were to get signed for what they were on pace for alot of contracts would be different, gunetzel joined a pittsburgh team who came off a cup victory and he was slotted on the best player on the planets line, of course he had success lmao, you think marner wouldnt have similar success playing next to crosby ? come on man

mackinnon has 13 more points but 12 less goals than matthews, guess matthews is better

so you think marner has reached his ceiling at 23 years old is what youre saying?

do you think Marner is a 120 point player? i think hes a 90-100 point guy so there isnt that much he can really do to become better imo. 90-100 is still really good but you guys all act like hes going to tack on 10 points more than he did last year. if he waited till the end of the year he would have got 8-9 million easily. look at a comparable like skinner.? 22 goals is pathetic for an Elite level forward.... just saying 94 point pace and 22 are goals? thats not great i mean you can admit that. id say id prefer a 50/50 split goals to apples. so no you are being tooo literal. 80% of his points are apples

even if he cant do 120its not all about points lmao, he can become better in other ways, are you really being the guy thats saying points and goals are everything, makes sense that he reaches his ceiling at 23! now thats pure ignorance. and hes not as good becuase he gets less goals and more assists? dumb comment as well, is ovie better than crosby cause he scores more goals? not a chance, drai better than mcdavid? pasta better than marchand ? no, look at guys like henrik sedin and joe thornton both of them won mvps scoring way more assists than goals, by your logic matthew is better than mackinnon, in no way am i saying marner will be mvp but to say hes wrose because he gets more assist than goals isnt right, nick backstrom has over 25 goals once in his career so tied with marner, and he probbaly would have gotten3 more inthose last 12 games, so nick backstrom is not a great hockey player either by your logic.

i also said " id say id prefer a 50/50 split goals to apples. so no you are being tooo literal. 80% of his points are apples" so lets be intellegent for a minute. i would take a player that gets 40 goals and 40 assits over a guy that gets 20 goals and 60 assists and over a guy that gets 60 goals and 20 assists. i said i prefer a 50/50 g/a spread. i know reading is hard. if i had to choose i would value goals over assist only bc scoring goals are harder to do. 1g vs 2 a on a single play. smile this is fun

Marner can become a "more complete player" yes but as far as his point production ( your entire original point) i think hes hit his ceiling. funny how you try to use your points against me lmfao

Also do people consider Backstrom elite? id say hes a top 20 center but nobody claimed he was elite? also he had 101 points his contract year and 33 goals smile

yes i brought that up but when did i say that points was everything, when i mentioned marner only getting better never once did i mention his points total coming up for a reason of him getting better, youre the one who said is he going to get 120 points and i said its not all about points, look again. but why wouldnt he be able to put up more? curious as to why you came to that conclusion? if him and matthews continue to play together( once again 23 years old) they could put up more all while imroving overall game which they have each year, and marners complete game isnt even bad, he plays pk and pp

and you just said it, just becasue you value goals more than assists how does that make you right?

and 100% backstrom used to be elite, he isnt anymore but 100% he used to be. his contract year the cap was 59 mil 8 years ago so differnt . and 7 more points setting up the best goal scorer ever, and would you look who brought up points again?

and once again the points you havent answered, what would marner put up beside? sid and ovi , as you were the one who brought up guentzel actually performing in the playoffs, but got placed with sid from the start of his career pretty much

imo the only way Marner scores 120 is if he plays less responsible defensively. hes a 90-100 point player that TML trust to play in all situations. idk why you are having a hard time understanding that if thats his ceiling its extremely goood lmfao. hes overpaid but thats my opinion teams that win have guys that take discounts not break the bank. again my opinion. its stupid to diminish his accomplishment bc he plays with sid... he looked better with Geno this year. maybe he helps boost their play? is it that crazy to think Guentzel is actually just a great hockey player?

and i never said he would get to 120, im just curious how you came to seeing has 94 being his ceiling. im not trying to diminish at all, i think hes an excellent hockey player never once did i say otherwise, but when you say "it was also the season following him WINNING A CUP!! ill say it again WINNING A CUP. yeah in those playoffs he had 21 points in 25 games... is that good? how did marner do in those playoffs? " when marner was playing on a line with bozak and jvr on a team that finished dead last in the nhl the year prior compared to guentzel who got to play 1st line minutes with the best player ( back2back conn smythe wins) in the world on a perrenial playoff team who just came off a cup win, how can you not say sid played a huge part in that?
