No for $5 million per Anthony Cirelli would stay in Tampa.

The No means No Tampa doesn't take the trade, And the $5 million per means he stays in Tampa not hard to figure out.

So if Killorn would accept a trade to Calgary then the Flames add something else and the deal is fairly good.

What you aren't understanding is how bad the Bolts cap situation is. If he signs for $5 million they have no more ****ing cap space left and will still need to sign 2 more forwards and 4 Dmen including Cernak and Sergachev.

The only guys they can trade to gain cap space are:

Kucherov - no trade protection
Point - no trade protection
Killorn - 16 team no trade list
Vasilevskiy - no trade protection

That's what "No, and for $5 million Anthony Cirelli would stay in Tampa" means. That's not what "No for $5 million Anthony Cirelli would stay in Tampa" means

If people have to "figure out" what your intended meaning is that's not on them, that's on your communication, especially when your intended meaning is not what you said

Tampa declines as a mid 1st means nothing for where they are and Dube might be the 3C in Tampa. If Cirelli is willing to extend for 6 years at a 5 million aav, Brisebois will have the contract drawn up in 5 minutes. Tampa isn't moving Cirelli or Sergachev unless the deal is just too good to pass up. The most realistic scenario is that both sign 2 or 3 year bridges in the 4-4.5 range and Tampa is fine. They have quite a few ways to clear cap, as Killorn is unf getting moved, Paquette is gone and likely so is Johnson or Gourde either through trade or if necessary, buyout. Tampa may have to move Cernak depending on a couple factors such as whether Johnson/Gourde are traded or bought out and how.much he wants, but he's really the only rfa that may be moved. This trade doesn't make sense for where Tampa is.positikned,.so they'd pass

I dunno, I just did up a little AGM and here is what I did...

Cirelli & Sergachev 3 year bridges @ $4,000,000
Bought out Johnson
Killorn and Paquette traded outright
Re-signed Stephens and Verhaeghe to thier QOs

That left $4,095,042 cap space with just 16 roster players. Still need 4 forwards and 3 D

Going to be interesting to see how it all shakes out for Tampa this off season.

Tampa will not be running 23. They'll start with 22, which was the size of their roster for large stretches this season. I believe Johnson will get traded, as he'll see the "writing on the wall" so to speak. He knows if he chooses a select few destinations to go to now, he has a stronger chance of playing somewhere he wants going forward rather than rolling the dice on 20 teams after next year. This aspect combined with his diminishing ice time/role in Tampa could further entice him to waive now.

The roster is doable at 22 with the 3 main rfa's coming in between 10-11 million total on their bridges, provided 2 of Killorn/Johnson/Gourde/Palat are moved in addition to Paquette and Coburn. Brisebois certainly saw this coming, which is a large reason why he made the trades for Coleman and Goodrow. The d pairings for next year are likely Hedman-Rutta, McD-Cernak and Serg-Foote/Bogosian. If Cernak is a cap casualty, then either Serg moves to the right and plays with either McD or Hedman, and Tampa finds a low cost 3LD to pair with Bogo or Foote or Serg stays on the left and still plays with Bogo while Foote pairs in a similar role to Cernak and learns from McD. Shattenkirk is almost certainly moving on, as Tampa won't be able to give him what he'll be looking for and certainly not at the expense of losing Cernak. It'll be interesting and a tight fit, but Tampa has been making it work for quite awhile.
