Here's a comparable to Patrice Bergeron: Bob Gainey. If Gainey was a first-ballot HHOFer, then Bergeron is a deadlock 1st-ballot HHOFer.

Even if Gainey had more Cups than Bergeron, Bergeron still has the same amount of Selke wins as Gainey and there's a high chance he could get even more. On top of that, Bergeron has had better stats and way better offensively than Gainey. Sure he has had the benefit of playing with Marchand and Pastrnak but Gainey played with a bunch of HHOFers. Heck Bergeron still put up amazing stats even before the arrival of the Pastrnak (2014) and Marchand (2010).

So yeah. Bergeron isn't overrated.

When you talk with someone about hockey and they tell you that Bergeron is not a great player. This should be the moment for you to change subject because you know the conversation would just be waisted time at that point

So do it. I'm game to see what info you have that shows they were better defensively and more deserving of a Selke nomination.

If the guy watches the players and has an opinion, that’s fine. Just don’t tell me you want him to provide charts.

No, I don't need charts, just want to know how they came to the conclusion they did.

Player A gets 60 pts.
Player B gets 55 pts.

Player A played 82 games
Player B played 55 games

I guess you're taking player A?

Just saw this. Is this a specific season you are talking about or are you insinuating player A best fits Kopitars career production season wise?

I honestly don't give a **** about "pace" It means nothing to me. Just because he was on "pace" doesn't mean he would have actually gotten the points to get that total and he been in the lineup.

Let's try this again and pretend you aren't rxtarded.

Player A has **** linemates on a rebuilding team and gets 62 points.*** (Would have gotten more than 70, but I'm not counting that because pace is meaningless)

Player B plays with the best LW in the NHL and the 3rd best RW in the league on one of the best teams in the league and gets 56 points.***

Player A plays 70 games***
Player B plays 61 games***

Put Kopitar on a line with Marchand and Pastrnak and he's a 90-100+ point player every year. He's a superior play maker and better offensively. He already is better with bad linemates.

Your math is worst than mine.

You're a funny guy though, I appreciate you trying.

I never said he isn't a great player. He is. All I said was it is very debatable who is better, Kopitar or Bergeron.

If it is a waist of time, why did you chime in?

I did not. This was more a general statement. Kopitar is a great player too

You just contradicted yourself.

You tell me there's no guarantee a player ends up with x number of pts based on pace but you also tell me " Put Kopitar on a line with Marchand and Pastrnak and he's a 90-100+ point player every year ", which is an assumption but it's not guaranteed.

Congrats. tears of joy

That's not really a contradiction. He's more of a fact.

Bergeron has never gotten 80 points in his life so it's hard to believe even if he's on "pace" that he would actually get there. Meanwhile with bad linemates Kopitar has accomplished 70,80,90+ point seasons. So it's only factual to imagine he'd get 90,100+ points playing with Marchand and Pastrnak.

It still cracks me up how you try to debate me over the same things and lose every time. I should start charging you for rematches.

It's the same thing. You contradicted yourself.

And it doesn't matter if Kopitar plays with 63 & 88 because he never will.

" And you lost another debate "

You don't seem to understand you're talking about the same thing but with a different perspective, that's it.

No guarantee Kopitar gets 90 pts with Marchand and Pastrnak but very likely.
No guarantee Bergeron would have had 100 pts last year but very likely.
