Description
Nothing too crazy, I'd say the acquisition of Sampo and a 2nd while dumping Steal's cap is enough for the Rangers to justify downgrading from Buchnevich to Compher, whereas it solidifies the Avs top-6 at a reduced cost. Not sure what Islanders fans think of the Cizikas trade, but he's a tremendous player that they likely cannot afford anymore, would be a good 1 year upgrade on the 4th line.

Okay but how you gonna stay under the cap next year and then re-sign Buch the following year?

You find a way. Can't trade players like Buch for cap space. 2021 we have $20M opening with Henrik, Staal, Smith all coming off the books.

Not a fan of the NYI trade. Bellemare is one of the best 4C's in the league, and has a much lower caphit than Cizikas. There's no reason to be doing NYI a favour AND sending them a pick.

Buchnevich is good, but I don't think the difference between him and Compher is Ranta + 2nd, let alone including a $5.7m capdump!

Also not sure why you want to stock up on LHD's so much. Seems like overkill to have 6 LHD's on the roster, especially when you have just under $12m committed to the 6-8 Dmen. Pilut probably won't want to join from the KHL anyways if he's not going to be guaranteed a top 6 role.

I love Belly but Cizikas probably is the best 4C in the NHL. His impact numbers are insane, only reason Islanders would trade him is because of their cap problem, so I'd try to take advantage of that.

There's better ways to spend $3.5m of capspace than on a 4C though....
