Description

Experiment with 3 more equal lines rather than being top 6 focused to make it more difficult for the Blue Jackets to play matchups with their top Ds, giving the top 3 very similar ice times and only change to a top heavy top 6 if they are chasing the game

I think a Nylander Marner combo would be interesting to see like that, with some energy provided by Robertson

Matthews would have less skill around him, but he would have two guys who are working their ass off to get Matthews the puck and would probably play quite fast.

The reason why Clifford is not in the lineup is due to the oponent.

If they would advance to the next round and play Boston, I would replace Robertson with Johnsson (if healty) as well as: Clifford-Spezza-Engvall (leaving the Goat out)

Also, a competiton for ice time between PP1 and PP2

as I think an issue for the Leafs is, that they have too many players on the PP who want the puck.

Clifford should be in against any opponent. That guy just drives people over. Mrazek can confirm.

I disagree. He is not a great skater, does not kill penalties and is also not a great scorer. I think he is very effective against some teams, not so much against others

What happened to Engvall this season? He was looking pretty good for a bit and then seemed to drop off, admittedly I only caught a few Leafs games.

He is efficient defensively 5v5, adds that needed spark to a team, is natural leader on ice and adds needed physicality. He is not a great skater, but he can kill penalties. I dont think you would sit a veteran and leader like that in playoffs against team that is physical.

Not a big fan of Robertson in the lineup. But I do like the balanced line.

Moving kerfoot in the offseason and putting Johnsson with nylander and kappy on the third line would be a crazy line.

Not sure if I would do it long term because Willie might lack quality ice time, but I think it would be a nice nice idea. And Willie has shown us in the past that he is capable of playing centre and this would be quite a hard matchup for Columbus
