No, I'm pointing out we can't use later rounds with NHL experience as a measure because later rounds aren't playing in the NHL yet. If you want we can look at their Jr numbers:

Abruzzese (4th rounder, 2019): NCAA, 31 gp, 14g, 30a, 44 pts
Abramov (4th rounder, 2019): QMJHL: 63 gp, 35g, 41a, 76 pts
Kokkonen (3rd rounder, 2019): Liiga (D): 39, 10 pts, 19 minutes a night

Sick.

You said that Dubas is excellent at drafting players in the later rounds when he’s never drafted such a player to ever make it to the NHL. That’s flat out delusional.

I get what you are trying to achieve, but you need to account for the fact that he has a modified NMC and the likelihood he’d ever go back to Toronto, is literally zero.

I live in TO, the media and fans chewed him up and spit him out. Treated the guy like crap, trash talked him daily - no chance he agrees to come back. That bridge is burned.

I live in TO as well and didn't hate Phil. Just because a few people or a segment of a fan base says or does stupid things does not need that's how the entire fan base reacts. I know plenty of Phil the Thrill fans.
One thing you said is definitely true about Toronto, things get blown out of proportion, this being just one of those.

If you want SJ to give you that 2nd for Johnsson, at least give us back a 2020 4th. That's an overpay without anything else coming back.

We really don't need wingers. The Kessel of a couple years ago would have been an exception to that rule, but that's not who we'd be getting. No interest.
