Why would Anaheim be interested in that for Rakell.

Bobber wouldn’t be surprised at that offer considering the team that is calling😊

I don't think Detroit would want this honestly. Small moves for next season. They are not 1 Mitch Marner away from being a good team, so that 2021 pick would likely be top 5 and be deferred to the 2022 draft, a notably strong one. As the 2021 draft doesn't seem to have any game breakers its safe to assume that the 2022 pick will be in the lottery.
Similarly, currently Seider is a franchise darling, projective to be an excellent shut down D with offensive potential. (Think Brandon Carlo if his offence does not translate, all the way up to someone like Pietrangelo if his offence does translate.)
Similarly they are giving up $10mil in cap space which is arguably their best asset.
I don't think the value is awful, as if they don't make this move, the leafs would be required to make another big move. I guess that means it somewhat fits the bill as a crazy move eh, not super realistic, but fun and less mental than some of the actual NHL trades that have been made in the past.

"Ah yes...so you want one of our best forwards, and in exchange, you're going to give us 4 assets that we have no use for? Is one of them a 1st round pick? No? A 2nd then? No? Why are you calling again?"

Wings can't afford to do such a move...need to add core pieces not just exchange or lose them

I agree. Seider was Yzerman's 1st pick as Detroit's GM. Yzerman from the time he stepped down as GM of TB until TB season ended scouting. I just can't see him trading Seider.

You are right Detroit just doesn't have enough pieces in place to trade 2 assets for one.

Marner is an excellent player a top line winger and Seider is projected as a top pair defenseman and defensemen and centers are in greater demand than wingers.

Wings pass. Marner is a very good players but two assists for one does not help a rebuilding team.

Yeah Detroit rightfully declines, Would love Marner but not for Seider.
