I don't think Detroit would want this honestly. Small moves for next season. They are not 1 Mitch Marner away from being a good team, so that 2021 pick would likely be top 5 and be deferred to the 2022 draft, a notably strong one. As the 2021 draft doesn't seem to have any game breakers its safe to assume that the 2022 pick will be in the lottery.
Similarly, currently Seider is a franchise darling, projective to be an excellent shut down D with offensive potential. (Think Brandon Carlo if his offence does not translate, all the way up to someone like Pietrangelo if his offence does translate.)
Similarly they are giving up $10mil in cap space which is arguably their best asset.
I don't think the value is awful, as if they don't make this move, the leafs would be required to make another big move. I guess that means it somewhat fits the bill as a crazy move eh, not super realistic, but fun and less mental than some of the actual NHL trades that have been made in the past.
