I can't see Klingberg being anything but more expensive than Nylander and perhaps not better. Considering TO has Rielly I think they could be better off with someone else.

Somehow Faksa costs 2nd + 3rd but Johnsson who is better player costs 3rd + bust.

Also Leafs are not trading either of Nylander and Liljegren.

Dunno about that. He's still only $4,25M for two years and after that pretty unlikely to exceed $7M unless he absolutely flourishes in Toronto...which is very possible considering he's a great offensive D.

Could very well be a Rielly 2.0.

Nylander > Klingberg
Liljegren = Robertson
Johnsson < Faksa

Take out Honka and the picks and its a fair deal.

Faksa's a great defensive center. Just a couple of years ago TOP10 in Selke voting. Johnsson's a decent mid-6 winger.

You know just as well as I do that centers hold more value.

We don't need Reilly 2.0 we need a defensive D man.

Nah. I don't really agree with that value notion.

He's been one of the highest scoring defenceman over the past 5 years. He's going to get 8+ I bet.

It's kind of sad that his good performance is now considered a bad thing...

2 years of Klingberg = 4 years of a younger Nylander?

Yeah. Simply put, I believe Klingberg to be a better player of the two. To the point it evens out in the contract.

Also he's dirt cheap right now. Very valuable thing considering how tight cap is.

Then I'd have to respectfully decline. It's close but Toronto loses this trade.

I think we learned our lesson from the Kadri for Barrie trade.

That's fine. Thanks for discussing the idea.

Not bad at all. I like him, just don't think I would part with Nylander for him. Although I am super high on Nylander.

I'd pass on this, personally. Not really a huge fan of Klingberg in general (not that he's bad or anything), but really not a big fan of his fit on the Leafs. Would be kind of lateral from Barrie. Not at all what they need, imo.
