Among 197 defensemen who played at least 500 minutes at 5v5 this season, Russell ranked 4th in Goals Against/60. But to you he's a "bad d" and a "cap dump" that Edmonton has to pay to get rid of AND take a worse contract in return.

Oh I heard those for Georgiev too. Bracco will look good as a UFA after he gets non-tendered but we don't talk about that!

Andersson was beat out by Howden and the year before by Chytil (when Hayes was still on the roster). Both of whom were 1st round picks and are as good if not better prospects. Chytil might not have put up the best scoring numbers this season, but I would be absolutely shocked if Chytil doesn't develop into a top 6 center in the next couple of years. Maybe even develop into a top line center in a relatively short amount of time. I also believe that Howden will develop into a well rounded 20 plus goal scoring top 9 center.

Andersson is going to play in the SHL next season and if healthy will probably put up tremendous scoring numbers. Add to that he's considered a very good "hounding" defensive center in his scouting report, the Rangers should receive a trade offer more indicative of the top 7 draft pick where he was selected.

Sounds like Sam Bennett is your man then. Although, I am not sure the flames would even be willing to give him up given Andersons's fall from grace.
