Tarasenko and Thomas are key players on the defending Cup champs. Duh-doy. Don't be daft, it undercuts all possible credibility while you call someone a moron.

"I began to give Cozens the slight edge over his peers at the top because of his unique blend of straight line speed and puckhandling ability for his size, as well as his improved finishing touch. For every defining skill that some of the other players atop my ranking had, they often also had traits that could prevent them from maximizing those standout tools. Cozens had fewer holes, which made me ever so slightly more confident in his ability to reach the top of his projection."

Like I said tarasenko didn't play all year and you guys did just fine.

1. We'd get the best player at the best position in the deal, possibly the best two when you look at the upside of Cozens.
2. We'd save cap, long- and short-term
3. We'd be more competitive long- and short-term
4. We'd pick in the top-10 for the first time since we landed Pietrangelo
5. Even if Thomas ends up better than Cozens we still win this by a mile

I get the concern about making changes to a winning team, but come on, these are clear improvements - how often can you grab a top 10 NHL center, age 23, with 6 years on his deal, in a trade? And Cozens is easily a top-5 prospect outside the NHL, with all of the tools to translate to a top six center while he's still on his ELC.

Sensible fan...

In my opinion cozens>Thomas. Unproven sure but I have seen a ton of him in Lethbridge. I have no doubt his game will translate well in the nhl level.
