Seen ample Marner proposals for far less. But let me guess "no one wants Burns he stinks" is the logic behind it even though he's a year removed from being a PPG defender and the best conditioned player in the league. Whole org took a dump this season and he was not immune to it. Still a #1 D-Man in this league and will be for the next 3 years at least given the shape he's in.

Shattenkirk has been very good. He wants to stay in Tampa and would take a discount. I do not think TB can afford him. I'd guess he will be looking for 3 years and at least 4 million. He deserves it.

It's almost like people have made a ton of really bad marner proposals. And yes, there is that 'no one want burns' logic because he's 35 years old and being a year removed from being a ppg player more than likely means decline instead of a bad year. Also his contract is bad, and even with the retained is way too much for way too long. And no, he probably wont be a #1 D man, he isnt much of one right now. Aging curves are a real thing that people always seem to ignore with their own players

The thing with burns is hes 35 and has 6 years left on his contract. Its not super atractive.
