I don't like this tool I needed to add mike smith and conor sheary (UFAs) just to make it happen....

But basically. The penguins take much needed salary from Edmonton in exchange for Kris Letang (better than Larsson), pick up franchise goalie which can be paid for by shipping out Neal who isn't a bad player. In exchange for freeing up cap and providing a piece that makes losing Bouchard hurt a little less. Penguins set up their future blue line.

Guentzel - Crosby - Poulin
Neal - Malkin - Rust
Zucker - ????McCann/Hallander/Blueger??? - Hornqvist
ZAR - Blueger/Lafferty - Tanev
Dumo - Marino
JPO-Larsson
Petterson - Bouchard

You didn't need to add the ufas, you can publish it without it meeting the requirements.

I understand the idea but if you can trade Murrays rights for a player like Bouchard, why do you need to trade Letang for a bunch of stuff you dont really want? Neal and Larsson can't be where Pit wants to go. If Letang has one less year than Neal and even if you have to decrease his work load I would rather have Letang overpaid on a second pairing than Neal for almost 6 mil bouncing between second and third lines.

Because no way Oilers can do it without sending back a expendable RHD and a higher cost forward. Oilers want to win now and Letang is an upgrade on Larsson and helps them more now than Bouchard.

"The Oilers can make a trade somewhere else if they need the cap. That's not our problem. There are plenty of teams that would pay Bouchard level talent for Murray and it wouldn't hinder us" - Pit

James Neal will never be a Pittsburgh Penguin again. The pieces of the trade are irrelevant.
