Oh I got it alright - your outrageous over-valuation of Hertl in the trade is beyond comprehension. Stop thinking with your little head.

LOL, you need to watch Hertl play bud. It's ok, understanding the game if for grownups.

MMmmmmmmaybe. I worry about the term on Backlund's contract, but he's certainly better than the usual Bennett or Jankowski nonsense proposals we get.

Thats an option but hard to dump 3+ mill of salary on any team these days without taking something back, especially with the cap staying stagnant or dropping. Thank you for your response.

I think it helps the Jackets and Flames. He can play 2nd line there and Flames can add another poop disturber who is looking to rebound and get out of his long term commitment.

I defer to your incomparable level of genius. That said, please provide a little better context as to why the Flames would dump Gaudreau for a player that's had one good season in his career, as well as throwing in a second-rounder in a deep draft. Hertl was on pace for approx. 60 points this season prior to the pause, which is roughly on par with Gaudreau's worst output in years. Sure we save $1mn for the next couple of seasons, though trading him to a division rival is the real head-scratcher. Why would the Flames do this deal? "Watch him play" is not a good rationale...

It's ok, I'm sure this worked well on your X-box.

I would do Gaudreau for Hertl 1-for-1 at this point. I really like Hertl's game, plus he can play center if the CGY lineup ever faced injuries (which is a guarantee in the NHL). I think Hertl would fit in perfectly with on the Monahan - Lindholm top line.

However, I would absolutely not do a Backlund trade for Anderson 1-for-1. Still wouldn't do it if CLB added a mid-round pick. Max price the Flames could pay for Anderson -- and other teams could probably pay more -- is = 2nd + 4th + decent prospect, given that we don't have full information on Anderson's injury status.
