No one is going to trade for Marner because no one can afford the cap hit. That’s the same spot Columbus is in, but if you really think Toronto is going to sell Marner without a top 4 RHD coming back you’re crazy, and honestly a Marner for Jones trade is fair, value wise.... Columbus just can’t afford Marners cap hit admins we’d really like to to move Jones.

Okay. You initiated the toxicity by telling me to stop submitting trades. I’m here to discuss hockey. I agree with most of your points, but I don’t believe Marner for Jones is fair at all. Jones contract is great, marner is overpaid. Value-wise, we must also look at the contracts, not just the player performance (subjective value).

Also, I don’t believe that Toronto’s problem is all defense. In fact, a lot of it has to do with their forechecking. A couple nhl-men can change Toronto’s game drastically (savard and gavrikov are an example). TOR needs size and checking along with an upgraded D corps.
