Description

A couple tweaks from my previous ROYAL BLUE N YELLOW SWORDS team.

-Instead of offer-sheeting Cirelli, I used Montour to bring over Dvorak to be the 2C.
-Tried to gain some cap space by trading away Hutton and Johansson.
-Pilut deserves to be in the NHL, the Rangers could use a young defenseman, and would look to regain the 3rd round pick given up in the Vesey trade.
-Much of the rest of the holes were from (hopefully) fair RFA contract extensions, or (hopefully) fair UFA pickups.

The future contracts for Jokiharju and Dahlin are key, thus tried to leave a little cap room. (Side note, if opting to extend Jokiharju this offseason as opposed to next, I would throw a 4x4 contract extension his way).

I like the Dvorak deal if Arizona would do it. There is no way Larsson will ever be worth $3 million a year, he’ll be lucky to see $2 million a year anywhere. It’s not necessary to overpay to get rid of Hutton, you can bury him in Rochester and save the same money. Saving Space for this season means nothing unless we are making the playoffs and adding at the deadline. You can even sign Dahlin and Jokiharju to extensions now and they don’t count until next year. I love the Jesper Fast signing.

I wouldn’t necessarily say more valuable, but yo Arizona yes Dvorak has tremendous value because they need him. Montour is horribly miscast in Buffalo and many teams know it. Value is close, but the Arizona needs centers not defenseman.Step’s value couldn’t be any lower right now, but they still need him in AZ

MoJo is worth more than a fourth round pick. On Minnesota he probably holds down a 2 or 3C role, even though he’s not ideal for a 2C role at all

Maybe but he sure wasn't worth his contract and in a flat cap world who really wants to spend assets & cap to find out if he still has some game left.

Thought process was that Arizona has some aging dmen (Hjalmarsson & Goligoski), and they have a guys at C like Barrett Hayton now knocking on the door, along with Nick Schmaltz taking some nice strides. Would adding in an extra asset like pick or a guy like Asplund sweeten the deal?

Also, edited Mojo's trade to a 3rd round instead of 4th.
