No to the Toronto trade and the others won’t need sweeteners attached to get a first. Why would you want to trade Hronek unless you think Drysdale is going to be a franchise 1D?

I see Drysdale at Dougie Hamilton level. Not as good as Makar/Hughes/prime Karlsson but definitely top pairing #2D

Isles say yes. I like it a lot. A depth defenseman and depth forward for a 1st round pick to lose ~$4M in cap sounds fair.

Do you keep offering this package because of the name "Bertuzzi" and because the favorite word in Leaf land with now is "grit"? Because offering a 30 goal/70 player and your franchises top RD prospect (which they surely need) for a guy who has grit and Hronek? Now I may not know alot about this Hronek kid, but unless he is the second coming of Christ, this is just isn't a good deal.

Hronek is a 23 year old top 4 RHD who scored 31 points in 65 games last year on the worst team in the league, far better than Liljegren's ceiling as a 23 year old. Bertuzzi scored 48 points in 71 games on the worst team in the league. You give up Nylander, but you get a great young replacement in the top 6 that, yes, plays with grit which is something we lack, and a stud young RHD that is much better than Liljegren

Bertuzzi also has a good record of coming up clutch in the playoffs, though not at the NHL level for obvious reasons. He had some great chemistry with Mantha and Larkin this year, but when Mantha was injured the replacement was obviously nowhere near that level. On a line with Matthews or Tavares 60 points would be realistic. Honestly, as a Detroit fan I would be hesitant to make that trade. Hronek was comfortably our best D last year and would be great QBing the 2nd unit in Toronto. Would hate to see those two guys moved in the near future, would hate to see them moved in division.
