Ouchy all over the place. Perhaps most with trading a first to move up 5 spots in this years draft...would only be worth it to be in 1st or maybe 2nd OA.

Thats the 10th pick in this draft. We could get an extremely talented player that would normally go top 5 in most drafts. We could land a sniper like Seth Jarvis

Even if I could get on board with that idea...why wouldn’t you give up the Calgary first rounder you got in the bad Letang trade?

Can you replace Kunin with Donato?

Because why would I give up another first in a deep draft to save a first in a weaker draft? And that “bad” trade dumped 5 plus million allowing me to sign two players who have the ability to match or surpass Letang’s points production in Shattenkirk and Gustafsson.

Sorry not when we’re giving up a guy who scored 40 before

the difference in talent from 10 to 15 is minimal.

And at no point does trading a 40 goal winger help this team.

You guys are both nuts. Jake ain't worth that as his number will drop when he isn't playing with Sid. And Donato is 5x the player Kunin is... the stats show it, he scores more points per minutes played that most of the Wild team. Are you the reason Donato is stuck in the mystical dog house? Makes no sense....

What would need to be added on top of Donato? Cause we kinda really need Kunin. After him our only right shot forward is Hartman

Do you not believe the two players I have playing with Sid can score more than 40 goals? Sid made Guentzel and Sheary. Obviously Sheary has been exposed since and Jake has proven he can play but do you think he’s ever sniffing 40 goals again when he’s not playing with 87? I think two first round wingers in their early 20s with Sid is dangerous, not to mention Malkin getting Zucker and Rust as linemates. Kunin gives us another RH shot in the top six. Singing Haula gives us an actual 3rd line C unlike McCann who’s a LW and he’s great at face offs. The blue line is better. Marino will improve and Shattenkirk can score around 40 points playing the kind of minutes Letang logs. Gustafsson and Montour would be a second pair on most teams. Then you get Greiss as a reliable 1B to Jarry. This team isn’t going out in round one

Hey, I'm not extatic about how much were giving up. Just trying to negotiate a minor detail

The upcoming draft is more times than not billed up as a DEEP draft. The only safe assumption with next years draft is that the scouting will be truncated.

On Letang, I like Marino but do you think he is ready for top line duty or able to eat the minutes Letang does? IMO he’s a solid second pair dman.

no one does, and Sid didn't make Jake. Jake was a great goal scorer before he ever played with Sid. He lit up the WBS and Nebraska all on his very own. He didn't need anyone to carry him.

Umm the NHL isn’t college hockey or the AHL. Jake would have never even sniffed 40 if he wasn’t playing with the best player in a generation. Wingers come and go. A small percentage are truly great (Ovie, Kane, Jagr, the Hull’s etc...) Jake is a good winger, probably worth 25-30 goals with a normal top line C.

sure sure sure, and Laffy taffy needs people to carry him in the NHL too because the Q isn't the NHL either right.

They are going to explore trading Letang. That’s already being reported by people who know what they’re talking about like Josh Yohe and Rob Rossi: https://theathletic.com/1992907/2020/08/13/inside-the-penguins-collapse-and-the-big-changes-that-still-remain/

Every offseason there’s Letang rumours. I don’t buy it till it happens

CGY has 0 interest in old/slow Letang, only to not protect him for the Seattle Expansion Draft.
Dumb trade was dumb.
