Pittsburgh needs some serious help on defence, especially the LD. Edmonton on the other hand needs a goalie for now and the future. Pittsburgh seems keen on Tristan Jarry and will not be able to sign Murray especially with a flat cap. Good opportunity for Pittsburgh to boost their defence, and for Edmonton to get a good goalie that I think will bounce back and be able sign him to a long extension for a good dollar amount

Ah yes, the trade that Leafs and Oilers fans have been hearing about forever. It makes good sense when you actually think about it as well. What do the Oilers need? Fast and skilled wingers to play in the top and bottom 6. What do the Leafs need? A hard-nosed RD that can play a shutdown role in your top 4. Cue up Adam Larsson and Kasperi Kapanen. The salaries are also very similar which would fit well for two teams that will be strapped for cash. (Not sure if it would be a 1 for 1 but you get the idea)

Ottawa might actually NEED this contract if they're going to reach the cap floor, and you can bet your house that the Oilers will be only too willing to give it up....

It seems that NYR have basically given up on Lias Andersson at this point, and as much as I like Puljujarvi it just doesn't seem like he's going to throw on an Oiler jersey again. Try and trade him away for another young player who could maybe just need a change of scenery to get his career back on track. Throw in Kassian's contract to clear up some cap, swap 1st rd picks to sweeten the pot and you might have something here.
