Description
Wings Solidify left D. .. Sign reclamations..& many insider rumors have AA not getting his QO from Oilers so he takes a "prove it" bridge deal back in Detroit ..all additions are lower than market due to covid HRR losses forcing tight cap on most teams.. All pending UFAs will dealt at tdl for picks

No comp to Oilers as they reject qualifying AA ..just only way to show his signing in Detroit

I don't think AA is Yzerman's type of player. Just don't see him coming back in any scenario. Plus, having him and Galchenyuk on a line together would break a record for +/-, and not in a good way haha

Yeah AA is a bit of a pipedream. I'll take guss and im not the biggest krug fan but if he signed that contract id take him. I think someone drastically over pays him. I'll pass on chuk too. I love Rossi at 4oa. I think hes gonna be a great player. Hes a bit of a Smurf but hes worth it.

Since AA is has a real chance of being non-qualified in EDM, you might be able to get him for free at 900k for 1 year, but I don't think Yzerman would do it again. He's got the talent physically, but something is missing mentally to make it all work.

No way Krug leaves BOS, especially for that kind of money. If that's all it took, he would have already signed in BOS. Plus, he would have no business being in DET, it'll be another few years before they contend. Gus would be a good signing at those terms, it would definitely be a LHD placeholder until some of the prospects are ready (McIsaac being the closest). I would also take Gal and Griess at those terms, won't block any prospects that may come around.

Rossi is the 2nd closest to being ready for the NHL (Lafreniere being the 1st). I don't think anyone else drafted will make the NHL (Perfetti is close, but I think he needs 1 more year, I'd take him as well at 4OA).

Great pick at 4oa! I would love to see if Rossi can make our team playing 3C or middle 6 winger out of camp next year with Fil or Nielsen as a mentor.

2C will be a coin flip if we're looking to FA to fill that hole, but it probably ends up being Fil (unless Yzerman can find a cap dump to fill the role).

I like the roster you put together, but agree with everybody that AA probably doesn't play in Detroit again (sadly).

Hate to break it to you but it's HIGHLY LIKELY KRUG LEAVES BOSTON ..first Boston can't afford him even on a hair cut discount ..second ..hrr across the league will force even top ufa to take much less $ or be froze out of market..& third he's from Michigan grew up huge wings fan...& if wings remotely come close on what he'd accept which a little raise (in this market) he'd accept..wings are one his top teams to land if not his top choice once leaving Boston is official..sorry to burst your bubble (pun intended)

Krug has already said he loves BOS, and will do what it takes to stay (he named his dog Fenway!). BOS is still in their window, so letting a vital piece go without a replacement means they'll have to start rebuilding the back end (they don't have any replacements available for Krug's skillset). Plus, no way Yzerman spends on the D this year unless its a stopgap (as he has already said, DET's window isn't this season). And while prices will be down (somewhat), a flat cap doesn't mean prices are going to be reduced from last season (when it had the same cap), so he isn't taking a paycut with a flat cap, it just means it won't go up like it has been.

Players always say they love it in whatever city they currently play.. Til they leave...& im sure he likes Boston..true..but they can't afford him period & he knows it...im saying IF Stevie Y wants krug & itll be at Stevies fair market price ..itll happen..so yea enjoy the last games of 47 in black/gold ..

You don't think a flat cap means player prices are going down ..u obviously don't listen to ANY HOCKEY PPL INSIDERS ETC...they ALL say the halls krugs etc will have to take haircuts $ if not big cuts..cuz if the hrr losses league wide & teams make their rosters years out calculating cap increases..& this killed 2/3 or so if the league plans for their rosters..the players will bite a big bullet ..just watch & remember cuz "I told you so" ..advice start listening to nhl national insider podcasts . you'll learn quite a bit
