Description
Spitballing, think a TB trade is imminent for either Sergachev or Cirelli, but wanted to see if I could get them both and resign them long term. Used evolving wild predictions for contract figures. Brought Bracco across because I think he is more NHL ready than Kratsov because of performances in the AHL. Wanted to keep Miller in Hartford too just so he can find his game coming off a bad Wisconsin team and to not go too young for the lineup. I didn't want to buyout Staal, Smith, or Lundqvist and just let their contracts expire next season along with Shattenkirk's buyout being reduced so that players like Zibanejad, Chytil, Fox, and Shestorkin can get paid.

It was talked about earlier in the season. I realize I probably could have got more from Toronto but didn't want people to think I was biased on NYR coming back with too much.

Right, like you could go and add a second or third from Toronto to make it even. I didn't want a ridiculous ask... well more than what I did for Tampa.

Leafs take that and runs. Tampa says no. Not only is the deal not enough, it’s not the type of deal Tampa needs. They take back Strome and Deangelo and likely have to pay both as much as Cirelli and Sergachev if not more. Also Buchnevich that’s way more salary taking sending

You're right. Tampa can't pay them even on a bridge. Maybe exchange Kratsov for Buch, but even still probably not enough.
