Newhook is pretty good man. I would not mind moving these assets to get Newhook on a RFA contract. Guy is gonna be a stud.

Newhook had just as good of a year as Zegras (and finished on an absolute tear), and will get an extra year on his ELC bc he's staying in the NCAA next year

We shouldn’t be trading Rakell unless we get assets we really need.

I'd be willing to work out a deal for Rakell but Newhook is untouchable imo. His ELC lines up perfectly with the team's cap crunch years and Kadris contract so he can take over 2C eventually. Newhook is just what the Avs need. I'd be happy to give up a 1st + Helleson + Roster player for Rakell though

I don't think Newhook, Byram, Annunen or Timmins are on the table. Kaut maybe but i personally wouldn't add a roster player on top of him + a 1st. If you want to swap Helleson with Bowers or someone else then sure, I just thought u guys may want RHD prospects more so than forwards

Newhook is untouchable. He was the NCAA frosh of the year and leading scoring amongst frosh. IMO he is a ppg center in the NHL and fits exactly into the Avs timeline with Kadri’s contract. Expect him to be the Avs 2C no later than 22-23.

Kaut and Bowers are the logical ones. Though Tyson Jost, don’t laugh, would be a possibility. Imo given the chance he is a 40-50 pt guy that can play wing or C he just needs a chance which is something he isn’t likely to get in COL.

its just that newhook is that good and he perfectly aligns with the succession plan into the Top 9 at the 3C and transitioning to 2C while Kadri is in the last year of his deal.
Rackell would be a good add but he has only 2 years left on his deal, that is not enough value on that contract to warrent conversations one of the top prospects in all of hockey.

@Xqb15 I like Jost. Just would have to do more research on him/watch more games before I would go trade for him in a discussion forum. I just been super obsessed with COL farm system. Its pretty good to say the least.

It’s nice to have a good system for once, or at least once that isn’t 1 or 2 prospects deep. If you like checking out the farm guys for the Avs I would recommend taking a look at Sasha Mutula, Sampo Ranta, and Alex Beaucage all have NHL potential.

Newhook is near untouchable and ill give you a few points.
COL is not nearly as deep on young F prospects as they are on D and Newhook is lightyears their best F prospect.
COL has attempted to find a true 2C behind MacKinnon with no success (Jost, Compher, Kerfoot, Soderberg etc.) with no success, until now (we think).
With that being said, now we've finally got that 2C, who will be ready when Kadris contract is up, now you are looking to take him away lol.
COL expects to lose cap space with the resignings of Landeskog, Makar, Grubauer, Burakovsky etc. so having Newhook on an affordable entry level deal makes the cap situation work.
