Not trading Nylander why exactly? To save face? Horrible move. Kapanen is a lot better

IMO as a non Chicago fan, the Hawks top priority should be to clean up the cap (find some miracle to move Seabrook), and not fall into the trap of overspending on FA’s. There is some real talent to build off of make sure they have an opportunity to grow.

Who cares about saving face? It's about developing young players. Nylander has the potential to be better than Kap. Why trade him after a mixed, but promising rookie season.

Besides, Nylander is on an ELC, we need those.

I think trading a player because you cant cope with what you lost in that trade is 10x worse.

Colliton is the reason why we couldnt get the 3rd line going against Vegas. Everyone knew them stepping up would be the key to standing a chance in this series, so what does Colliton do? He gives them less than 10 minutes per night of course! Colliton's misusage of Nylander is the reason he performed poorly. Colliton's refusal to put in Kurashev or Sikura, two choices who would have fit Nylander's place better than Quenneville when Nylander didnt response to Collitons misuse. Colliton's refusal to adapt or change anything based off of pairings that worked when he is the "analytical" coach of the future blackhawks is the reason we got dumpstered in chances in the last 2 games. If anything, this past season has shown that bowman can know what hes doing. Clearly Maatta was bad in the regular season, but he showed that Bowman had a reason for going out and acquiring him by being the far and away best defenseman on the team in the postseason, along with getting De Haan, a shutdown guy. Sure he made some questionable moves, everyone does, but Colliton's misuse of Jokiharju was the reason we had to sell low on him and getting another struggling prospect who was a redemption project. I've tried to be up and positive on Colliton, I really have, with his defensive development of both Dach and Boqvist sooner than anyone could have thought. But the fact is, the man just doesnt know how to manage a bench in games that matter, and thats all you need to know

I like Murphy, but not sure he is worth the 32nd pick in a very deep draft, is 27 and plays a position where Wings have some talent, right defense(Hronek, Sieder and possibly Lindstrom)
