Teams like Toronto/NYR/etc will have no problem spending to the cap.

Tampa and the Isles are in rough shape as well.

I meant more from an economic perspective but yes Tampa/Isles already signed those checks or they’re getting pennies on the dollar.

I wasn’t aware that Klingberg is a right side D, I thought he played left.

Teams won't be spending to the cap if they have top tier RFAs still on ELC contract (Dahlin). Just wait till he asks for 10M next year.

Also what is that Olofsson contract? 3M? He was better than Reinhart this season...

There’s no way even he thinks he’ll get $5 million a year. He’s had one very good season, he also got hurt during it. He’s not getting an offer sheet in that neighborhood, and if he did the first and the third round pick might be worth it.

I don't think he'll get 5M for 3 years (he would for 4 or 5 years). He'll probably get 4.5M for 3.

Definitely not 3M. That's bordering on criminal lol.

Personally I’m getting tired of every guy who scores 20 goals thinking he’s worth $4 million a year. It’s getting to the point where players seem to think for every 10 points they score they should get $1 million. It’s time for the NHL to rollback players salaries by 25% again. NHL contracts are becoming as crazy as baseball and basketball.

He was on pace for 63 points. What guy on pace for 63 points signs for 3Mx3?

If he’s going to get more than $3 million a year it’s going to be for more than 3 years.
