Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Allen, Jake
  2. Bortuzzo, Robert
  3. Parayko, Colton
Additional Details:
Why Toronto makes this deal:

1. Parayko solves their biggest issue...big #1 RHD that can play in all situations. Also comes with a reasonable cap hit for 3 more years.
2. Bortuzzo gives them more depth on the RD and adds grit to a grit less team. Comes with a low cap hit for 2 more seasons
3. Acquiring Allen helps St Louis shed a big salary for a backup goalie, gives him a change of scenery and gives Toronto a 1-2 punch with Campbell at a fairly low cost for both goalies

Essentially, St Louis makes this trade because it allows them shed salary to afford their captain to resign at a reasonable number. With Petro, Faulk, Gunnersson, Dunn and Scandella, they are a team loaded with D.
STL
  1. Liljegren, Timothy
  2. Nylander, William
Additional Details:
Why St Louis makes this trade:

1. Acquiring Nylander gives St Louis another scoring touch at a cost controlled contract for the next 6 years and keeps their window open. He can fit perfectly in on the top 6 and add 20-30 goals.
2. Liljigren gives St Louis a potential replacement for Parayko in the next few years on a rookie/low entry contract. High risk high reward with this player but being sheltered behind their loaded D core could potentially be pivotal to a player as that.
3. Getting cap space in return and being able to sign their Captain and leader.
2.
TOR
  1. 2020 1st round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
Toronto gets back into the first round with Tampa’s pick
SJS
  1. Andersen, Frederik
Additional Details:
San Jose acquires Andersen and gives them an alternative to Jones who has majorly disappointed in the past few seasons. Also, San Jose is familiar with Andersen from his time with Anaheim.

The blues trade favours them a little value wise but close. And if thats the best you can get for Freddie then there best off keeping him for another year.

It's an intriguing thought for SJ but his salary prevents from adding a middle six RW and 3C which we desperately need. It is very unlikely.

Sharks decline. We can’t even afford Andersen in the first place and, even if we could,we wouldn’t pay a 1st for a rental that Toronto obviously wants out of the org and doesn’t have the leverage trying to trade. The most we’d give up for him is the COL 2nd and a prospect/other pick which is, again, not gonna happen cause we can’t afford him.

SJ would never trade a first rounder for a 31 yrs old goalie with only 1 yrs left. Leaf fans you are not getting a first rounder for Andersen, Kapanen or Johnsson
